Frequently Asked Questions
Which consulate should I apply to for a multi-country Schengen trip?
Apply to the country where you will spend the longest time or where the main purpose of your trip takes place. If the stays are equal, apply to the country you will visit first.
How far in advance can I apply?
Applications can generally be submitted up to 6 months before travel. We recommend starting early because appointment availability varies by country and season.
Does travel insurance need to be purchased before applying?
Yes. Applicants generally need travel medical insurance covering the entire Schengen Area, including emergency treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation, with minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
